Terms of Use

By accessing or using RankMitra ("Platform", "we", "us"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of this platform immediately.

1. Platform Purpose

RankMitra is an independent, non-governmental platform designed to help aspirants of government competitive exams (including SSC, RRB, UP Police, UPSI, UP Lekhpal, and related exams) evaluate their OMR sheets and estimate their rank based on available data.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years of age to use this platform. By using RankMitra, you confirm that you meet this requirement. Users under 18 should use the platform under parental guidance.

3. Accuracy of Results

• OMR evaluation is based on official answer keys published by respective exam bodies.
• Rank estimates are based on data collected from users of this platform and may not represent the complete exam population.
• RankMitra does not guarantee that predicted ranks will match official results.
• Do not make any critical decisions solely based on results shown on this platform.

4. Intellectual Property

All content on RankMitra — including design, code, text, and graphics — is the property of RankMitra and is protected under applicable Indian intellectual property laws. Unauthorized reproduction, distribution, or commercial use is strictly prohibited.

5. Prohibited Activities

• Submitting false, misleading, or fabricated exam data.
• Attempting to reverse-engineer, scrape, or exploit the platform.
• Using the platform for any commercial or unauthorized purpose.
• Impersonating another user or misrepresenting your identity.

6. Limitation of Liability

RankMitra shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform, including reliance on rank estimates or score evaluations. The platform is provided "as-is" without warranties of any kind.

7. Modifications

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

8. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India, including the Information Technology Act, 2000 and its amendments. Any disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of courts in Uttar Pradesh, India.

Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how RankMitra collects, uses, stores, and protects your personal data. By using our platform, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

1. Data We Collect

• Account data: Name, email address, and profile picture (if you create an account).
• Exam data: Exam type, answers submitted, score, shift, category, gender, and roll number (if provided).
• Usage data: Browser type, device type, IP address, pages visited, and session duration — collected automatically for platform improvement.
• User-submitted content: Success stories or testimonials submitted voluntarily.

2. How We Use Your Data

• To evaluate your OMR sheet and display your score.
• To generate aggregated rank estimates based on collective exam data.
• To improve platform performance, accuracy, and user experience.
• To display anonymized statistics (e.g., average scores, topper boards).
• To send important platform updates (only if you have an account).

3. Data Sharing

We may share your data only in the following limited circumstances:

• With trusted service providers (hosting, analytics) under strict confidentiality agreements.
• When required by law, court order, or valid government authority under Indian law.
• In anonymized, aggregated form for research or statistical purposes — no individual is identifiable.

4. Data Retention

We retain your data only as long as necessary for the purposes described above. Account data is retained until you delete your account. Exam submission data may be retained in anonymized form for rank estimation purposes.

5. Your Rights (Under DPDP Act, 2023)

• Right to access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Right to correction: Request correction of inaccurate data.
• Right to erasure: Request deletion of your account and associated data.
• Right to withdraw consent: Withdraw consent at any time; this does not affect prior processing.
• Right to grievance redressal: Raise a complaint if you believe your data rights have been violated.

6. Cookies

RankMitra uses cookies to maintain login sessions and improve user experience. We do not use third-party advertising cookies. You may disable cookies through your browser settings, though some features may not function correctly.

7. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data from unauthorized access, disclosure, or misuse. However, no method of internet transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Third-Party Links

Our platform may contain links to official government portals or external sites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites. Please review their policies separately.

User Policy

This policy outlines expected behavior and responsibilities of all users of the RankMitra platform.

1. Account Responsibility

• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
• You must notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.
• One person may maintain only one active account.

2. Honest Data Submission

• You agree to submit only accurate and genuine exam data.
• Submitting fabricated scores, fake roll numbers, or false information to manipulate rank estimates is strictly prohibited and may result in permanent account suspension.

3. Community Standards

• Do not post offensive, abusive, or misleading content in any user-facing section (e.g., testimonials).
• Do not impersonate other users, toppers, or official entities.
• Respect other users' privacy — do not share or misuse other users' data.

4. Platform Integrity

• Do not attempt to manipulate the rank prediction system through automated submissions.
• Do not use bots, scrapers, or automated tools to access platform data.
• Any attempt to hack, overload, or compromise platform security will result in immediate termination and may be reported to authorities under the IT Act, 2000.

5. Account Termination

RankMitra reserves the right to suspend or permanently terminate accounts that violate this policy, without prior notice. Banned users may not create new accounts.

6. Reporting Violations

If you observe any user violating these policies, please report it to us. We take all reports seriously and will investigate promptly.

Data Consent

When you submit your exam data on RankMitra (including through the OMR evaluation form or rank prediction tool), you are providing informed consent for the following uses of your data:

• Exam name, date, and shift
• Your selected answers (OMR responses)
• Your calculated score
• Category, gender, and horizontal category (if provided)
• Roll number (optional, if entered)
• Profile picture (if uploaded to your account)

How This Data Will Be Used

• Score calculation: Your responses are matched against the official answer key to compute your marks.
• Rank estimation: Your score is compared against other users' scores to generate an estimated rank range.
• Aggregated insights: Your data contributes to anonymized statistics such as average scores, cutoff trends, and category-wise distributions — visible to all users.
• Platform improvement: Data patterns help us improve accuracy of rank predictions over time.

Champions Board Consent

If you appear on the Champions Board (top scorers list), your name, score, exam, and profile picture (if uploaded) may be displayed publicly on RankMitra. By submitting your data and appearing on the leaderboard, you consent to this display. You may request removal at any time.

Withdrawing Consent

You may withdraw your consent at any time by deleting your account or contacting us. Withdrawal of consent does not affect data that has already been processed in anonymized, aggregated form (as that data is no longer individually identifiable).

No Automated Decision-Making

RankMitra does not use your data for any automated decision-making that produces legal or significant effects on you. All rank estimates are informational only.
